No. 3118 — Plyatsek Covered with Almond Mixture
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3118 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Prepare a plyatsek as directed in recipe No. 3119. Add 2–3 drops of rose oil to the dough for fragrance.
For the topping, mix 2 yolks, a little rosewater, 1 glass chopped sweet and bitter almonds and finely chopped bitter-orange or lemon peel. Spread over the dough, brush the top with yolk and bake.
Once removed from the oven, the plyatsek may be sprinkled with rosewater again.
