No. 1799 — Waffle Cake with Jam and Whipped Cream
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 1799 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Bake waffles using any recipe from Nos. 1793–1798 and spread each waffle with jam.
Arrange attractively in a circular mound on a serving dish.
Whip thick cream with sugar, spread over the waffle layers and smooth, then decorate with jam.
Historical editorial note: The source lists one and a quarter glasses thick cream, a quarter glass sugar and half a glass jam in addition to waffles.
