No. 1497 — Bread Pudding with Raisins
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 1497 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Prepare as for pudding No. 1495, but replace spinach with half to three quarters of a glass of scalded, cleaned sultanas, and nutmeg with lemon zest.
Serve with sabayon No. 490, cranberry sauce No. 489, chocolate sauce No. 491, rum sauce No. 494, a red-wine, cherry or plum sauce, syrup or cream.
