English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 709 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Use green onions in okroshka and botvinya, to garnish herring, and with potatoes, mushrooms and kvass on fasting days.
They are also put into pies filled with buckwheat groats or sago.
