English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3977 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Boil together ¼ vedro river water, 3 glasses salt and 1 spoon saltpetre.
Cool and pour over thoroughly washed young beet leaves, tied into bundles and packed in a small tub.
