No. 3814 — Raspberry Fruit Cakes
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3814 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Pound one pound dried raspberries into powder.
Prepare syrup with half a pound sugar and a little water, bringing it to the boil several times.
Add berries and cook until thick enough to set on a spoon chilled over ice.
Form small flat cakes on an iron baking sheet, cool and dry in gentle oven heat.
