No. 3777 — Candied Grape Clusters

English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3777 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.

Make thin syrup from 1 glass water and 1 glass fine sugar. Keep it warm over coals and dip good grape bunches by their stems.

Roll in the finest sifted powdered sugar, put on a dish, then into a gently heated oven to dry.

Pack in a jar, tie and store dry. The grapes were used to decorate dishes and cakes.
