No. 3571 — Historical Method for Preventing Vinegar from Spoiling
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3571 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
The source recommends setting bottles of vinegar in water, boiling the surrounding water for fifteen to twenty minutes, then letting the bottles cool in the same water.
Historical editorial note: This is not a validated modern pasteurisation or canning schedule. Heating sealed glass bottles may also cause breakage or pressure buildup.
Original source: Read Russian recipe No. 3571. Historical quantities and terminology are retained. See the measurements guide. Period preparation and storage methods are not modern safety guidance.
