No. 3485 — Mamura (Arctic Bramble) Liqueur

English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3485 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.

Prepare as for raspberry liqueur in recipe No. 3482. The original also says the ready-made product could be bought at Chesnokov's shop at 29 Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street.

The later Russian editorial note identifies mamura as Rubus arcticus, the Arctic bramble, and lists vernacular names including polenika, kumanika, knyazhenika, knyazhnitsa, lapmorozhka, krasnaya moroshka, khokhlyanitsa, khokhlyanika, khokhlushka and Arctic raspberry.

Historical editorial note: These vernacular names are reproduced as historical Russian names; not all are precise contemporary botanical synonyms.
Original source: Read Russian recipe No. 3485. Historical quantities and terminology are retained. See the measurements guide. Period preparation and storage methods are not modern safety guidance.
