No. 3462 — Quick Caraway Vodka
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3462 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
The period source describes preparing caraway-scented water from 2 pounds caraway and 1½ shtofs water by distillation, and says the aromatic water can be kept on ice for several months.
For an immediate drink, sweetened vodka is flavoured with the stored aromatic water to taste.
Historical editorial note: Distillation is mentioned as a historical operation, not presented as modern home-distilling guidance.
