No. 3460 — Old Yerofeich Vodka
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3460 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
For 1 vedro purified vodka the source specifies 1 pound English mint, 1 pound anise and 1 pound coarsely crushed bitter-orange seeds.
The mixture is left in a large bottle in a warm place for twelve days. The author serves it either decanted or with the spices.
The spent flavourings may be covered again with half the vodka quantity and kept in warmth for a month to produce a second infusion.
