English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3421 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Crack walnuts and remove their kernels for another use.
Fill two-thirds of a large bottle with the shells and top up with purified vodka.
After two or three months, sweeten in the usual way.
