No. 3106 — Editorial Note: Mazurek
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3106 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
A mazurek is an elongated rectangular cake, about half a sheet or a full sheet of paper in size, very thin and dry. It may be glazed and decorated as desired, or sprinkled with currants, sugar, almonds and the like.
Serve it with a meal, tea or coffee. Do not remove it from its paper before it has cooled. Mazureks may be decorated like the thicker cakes called plyatski, described in the following note.
