No. 3079 — Buns Baked in Paper Moulds

English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3079 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.

Beat ¾ pound melted butter until pale, adding 2 whole eggs and 10 strained yolks. Mix in 2 tablespoons yeast mixture, 6 tablespoons warm milk, ½ pound flour, ½ glass sugar, ⅓ glass mixed bitter and sweet almonds and 1 teaspoon salt.

Mix thoroughly and let rise. Beat again and pour into a buttered paper mould. When the dough has expanded to 2½ times its original volume, bake carefully in an oven somewhat hotter than for ordinary buns.
