No. 3056 — Vanilla Sugar, Another Method
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 3056 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Break up a vanilla pod, pound it with sugar and sift. Add more sugar to the remaining vanilla and sugar mixture, pound again, sift and combine with the first batch.
Repeat, adding another pound of sugar at a time or more as desired. Store tightly closed in a glass or tin container.
