No. 2634 — Hot or Cold Sago with Chocolate

English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 2634 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.

Prepare 1½ glasses of sago as in recipe No. 2631. Once the cold water has drained, transfer it to a saucepan and pour in 3 glasses of boiling chocolate drink made with ⅛–¼ pound of chocolate, ½ glass of sugar and a piece of vanilla.

Cook until the sago is ready. Place on a dish and let cool if serving cold, then arrange in a mound. Pour over almond milk, or thick cream on non-fasting days.
