English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 2169 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Cream a quarter pound butter with an eighth pound sugar, about a quarter glass, and an egg.
Add half a small glass spirits and enough flour to knead in a cool place.
Roll, shape and bake.
