No. 2168 — Sand-Pastry Fingers
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 2168 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Cream a third pound butter, add one egg, one sixth pound sugar (a third glass), one sixth glass French wine and two glasses flour.
Knead, roll thin and cut oblong pieces, brush with egg and bake.
