No. 214 — Chilled Chocolate-Style Soup
Complete English translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 214 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original quantities, preparation and source.
Prepare as described in No. 184, then chill the soup on ice. Serve with croutons, rusks or sponge biscuits. The earlier recipe produces a chocolate-like color from toasted flour rather than cocoa.
