No. 2131 — Spiced Layer-Baked Butter Cake
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 2131 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Prepare exactly as in No. 2130, but add two finely pounded bitter almonds, one cardamom seed, a little mace, twenty-five cloves, a quarter teaspoon cinnamon and zest of half an orange rubbed with sugar.
Continue layering and browning the cake as in the preceding recipe.
