No. 1783 — Simple Thin Oatmeal on Water
English historical translation of Molokhovets recipe No. 1783 from the 1901 Russian cookbook, retaining original methods and measures.
Stir half a glass oat groats into nine glasses boiling water and cook.
Add one or two spoonfuls butter, beat smooth and, if desired, add half a glass raisins or one glass prunes.
